CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

MVC strengthened its social investment in Barangay Tonggo and Purok Trece in Iligan City by sharing expertise and resources through outreach programs which include a medical/dental mission, livelihood training and cooperative development & capability building. It is undertaking, in cooperation with the Judge Guillermo Guevara Foundation and the PBSP, a water development project that will provide potable water to three rural upland barangays in Iligan City. Its support for local barangays, puroks, schools and parishes, community development is further bolstered through sponsorship in souvenir programs, donations of used drums, scrap and excess materials, and giving of prizes and

ISO 9001:2000 and 14001:2004

MVC continues to support management systems that promote customer satisfaction and environmental protection. These systems - ISO 9001:2000 for Quality Management Systems (QMS) and ISO 14001:2004 for Environmental Management Systems (EMS) - were regularly and diligently audited by third-party assessors SGS Philippines, Inc. and TUV-SUD Management Service, respectively, to ensure MVC's adherence to the ISO standards.

MVC's nationwide operation from management, production and logistics is presently in conformance with ISO 9001:2000 standards. The EMS is currently available only at the Iligan manufacturing complex but plans are afoot to adopt the EMS standards in other areas where the company operates.

MVC's RESPONSIBLE CARE (RC) PROGRAM

Being part of the global voluntary initiative of the chemical industry to commit its management policy to secure and protect the environment, health and safety (EHS) of its stakeholders, Mabuhay Vinyl Corporation has initiated milestone in support of ethical, attitudinal, and principled ways of conducting its business and relating the same to the company's role in society.

A Responsible Care (RC) Manual has been prepared to enshrine Mabuhay Vinyl Corporation's guiding principles, vis-à-vis the RC declarations. Safety, Health and Environment policies have been revisited and firmed up; proportional activities, orientation and trainings were extensively implemented to ensure a successful program launching in June 2003.

UN GLOBAL COMPACT
MVC is an active partner to the United Nations Global Compact, an international initiative that started in 2000 to bring companies together with UN agencies, labor and civil society in support of universal environment and social principles. As a part of a network that spans thousands of companies from all regions of the world, MVC is committed to the advancement of ten universal principles in the areas of human rights, labor, the environment and anti-corruption.
