36 Jeepney Drivers Benefit from Outreach Program

Thirty-six jeepney drivers belonging to the Federation of Jeepney Operators and Drivers Alliance of the Philippines (FEJODAP) benefitted from the outreach program sponsored by Mabuhay Vinyl Corporation (MVC) last September 14 in Quezon City.

FEJODAP, being one of the four major transport groups in the Philippines, was chosen by MVC to be its beneficiary since this sector was identified to be greatly hit by the pandemic. Specifically, the FEJODAP South Sector with Guadalupe-Tejeron-Guinto route received goods from the company. Without a doubt, the transport sector was left jobless when the Philippine government implemented the Enhance Community Quarantine (ECQ) in several areas nationwide. Majority of the drivers are old and do not have means to find other jobs to support their day-to-day expenses.

Through Mr. Panfilo Batula, the president of FEJODAP South Sector, MVC was able to communicate with the identified group and was able to donate relief packs containing rice, vegetables, meat, canned goods, medicine and face shield. Ms. Kate Morgan E. Quiobe, HRD Manager, represented the company in giving the donations.

Because of this activity, MVC was also able to support local businesses which were also affected by the lockdown. To supply the relief pack, Villamor Veggies located in Pasay and A Best N Print Corporation from Quezon City were tapped.

The Human Resource Department in partnership with the Council of Solidarity’s Promotions Committee organized and facilitated the event.
