As part of its 2018 anniversary celebration, Mabuhay Vinyl Corporation (MVC) held an outreach program at Bahay Aruga in Manila last November 10. Bahay Aruga is a halfway house that provides free accommodation to pediatric cancer patients, undergoing treatment at the Philippine General Hospital, together with their parents.
The MVC employee volunteers were welcomed with smiles by the children staying in the facility. The volunteers distributed medical supplies and facilitated parlor games for the kids. Lunch was also prepared and served by the volunteers inside the facility.
Volunteers also spent time interacting with the kids and their mothers who shared their respective stories. The parents sold handmade items crafted by the kids such as key holders and ornaments to the volunteers. Proceeds of which will be used for their daily needs.
The day ended with picture-taking session with the kids and parents. The volunteers prayed for the children and left the facility inspired by the lives of the kids who were full of courage, joy and hope despite of the circumstances they are in.
