The Sgt. Miguel Canoy Memorial Central School (SMCMCS) of Brgy. Buru-un, Iligan City won 2nd Place in the entire Division of Iligan for the Most Functional Reading Program of 2018. The school also earned the 1st Place for the Bibliophile Award as having the most borrowed books in the Division Library Hub.
To help the school maintain and earn these awards for 2019, and in line with Mabuhay Vinyl Corporation’s (MVC) commitment to extend assistance to its neighboring communities, the employees of MVC, through the Industrial Peace Council – Values Enhancement and Responsible Parenthood Committee, donated books through the school’s annual “Book Shower Program”. New and slightly used reading materials such as magazines, storybooks and reference books were given last September 25 and were placed in the school library for the students’ use.
