Nutri-Asia Inc. and Shemberg, two of Mabuhay Vinyl Corporation’s (MVC) customers from Cebu City, visited the Iligan Plant to conduct a supplier’s audit on April 19 and 27, respectively. Nutri-Asia is one of MVC’s major customers of hydrochloric acid. On the other hand, MVC supplies sodium hypochlorite to Shemberg.
The audit was intended to ensure the compliance of MVC to Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards covering the control of documents & records, equipment maintenance, pest control, personnel hygiene and employee facilities, product traceability and control of non-conformity. It was also an opportunity for Nutri-Asia and Shemberg to give suggestions for the improvement of MVC’s current practices.
Headed by Mr. Steve SC. Pangilinan – Vice President for Manufacturing Operations, MVC’s management team welcomed the auditors in the lligan Plant. An on-site process audit was then conducted to assess the implementation of the Management Systems in the manufacture of hydrochloric acid for Nutri-Asia’s audit and sodium hypochlorite for Shemberg’s audit.
Both audits resulted in high scores for MVC. Nutri-Asia gave 98% while Shemberg gave a score of 97%.
