Mabuhay Vinyl Corporation (MVC) – Iligan employees participated in the planting of mangrove trees, an activity organized by the Federation of Family and Welfare Committees (FFWC) of the Department of Labor and Employment – Iligan Chapter last December 7. Employees of companies such as Republic Cement Iligan Inc., National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP), PLDT Inc., Mercy Community Hospital Inc. and Dr. Uy Hospital Inc. also volunteered for the said event.
Before proceeding with the planting activity, Kagawad Rio Gonzaga, Chairman of Committee on Environment of Barangay Hinaplanon Council, gave an orientation on the proper way of planting mangrove seedlings.
The volunteers were able to plant 500 mangrove seedlings around the wetlands of Bayug Island.
