Last January 8, Mabuhay Vinyl Corporation (MVC) inaugurated its new air compressor. The self-contained unit from Ingersoll Rand is a variable frequency drive contact cooled screw compressor. It can deliver up to 1,380 cubic feet per minute of compressed air which can supply the Ion Exchange Membrane (IEM) Plants 1& 2 and Liquid Chlorine Plant (LCP) production facilities.
A seminar, conducted by Ingersoll Rand representatives and attended by 40 employees, was held at the Training Room to orient the operators, supervisors and maintenance contractors on the basics of air compression. Common troubleshooting issues were also discussed.
After the seminar, an on-site testing was performed to operate the new equipment. Mr. Renato Saul C. Ortiz, Manufacturing Manager said, “With this new compressor, efficiency and reliability on instruments and overall plant operations will increase.
